Breaking: Premier is expected to rotate

RSC Anderlecht can start the last days of the regular championship comfortably. Indeed, Anderlecht is already assured of second place at the beginning of the Play-Offs and will be confronted with two lower-level teams. Coach Brian Riemer will therefore make his players turn.

A year ago, the RSCA had to fight until the last day to qualify for the European Play-Offs, which it finally failed to do. Today, the purples have long been assured of participating in the play-off champions and second place cannot escape them either.

The club therefore wants to take advantage of the last matches of the regular championship to nibble on a little more ground on the current leader, the Union. The matches against the RWDM, fourteenth in the ranking, and the KV Kortrijk, a red lantern, are opportunities to achieve this. Especially since the Union has a more complicated calendar with duels against La Gantoise and Antwerp.

But coach Brian Riemer also wants to take advantage of the next two matches to put as many players as possible in the rhythm for the next phase of the championship. We must therefore expect changes in the base team. On Saturday against the RWDM, for example, the midfielder will be completely redesigned.

Thus, it seems that Thomas Delaney will be back at the kick-off for the first time since his injury, leaving Mats Rits out of the team. According to La Dernière Heure, Yari Verschaeren will also regain his place as a starter. This should allow Mario Stroeykens to rest.

In defense, Jan Vertonghen is back after taking a suspension match. It is possible that Riemer will make other replacements. Finally, several players, including Killian Sardella, Théo Leoni and Stroeykens, have four yellow cards to their credit. If they receive another yellow card against Kortrijk next week, they will have to miss the first PO game. There is therefore a chance that some players will get a “tactical suspension” against the RWDM.
