See Reasons: De Bruyne Might say Good bye to Manchester City

Since his arrival in 2015 at Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne has won the team. At 32, despite recurring injuries over the last two years, his performance on the ground remains impressive. This season, he proved his excellence again with 10 assists in only 18 Premier League games, testifying to his major influence on the Skyblues game.

However, the Belgian seems to be at the end of a cycle with Manchester City. Phil Foden, a promising young talent, is beginning to take over, which raises the question of De Bruyne’s future within the club. The idea of a departure this summer is not to be ruled out, especially since several foreign clubs show their interest in the player.

According to the Mirror, Kevin De Bruyne’s advisors recently met with representatives of ten Saudi clubs in view of the next summer transfer window, which will begin on July 1. However, the player seems to favor a destination to Major League Soccer (MLS) rather than a departure to the Middle East.

Despite the transfer rumors, the current trend is leaning towards a last season with Manchester City before a possible departure to North America. This decision would allow De Bruyne to conclude his contract with the Skyblues in style and to prepare serenely for a new chapter in his career.

Beyond the Belgian’s decision, with one year in the contract, Manchester City will be able to choose to cash a check by selling the player instead of letting him leave for free next summer. This option was privileged last season by handing over Algerian Riyad Mahrez to the Saudi club Al-Ahli.
