Soon after the victory over Vizela (4-1), Sérgio Conceição revealed that Pepê, author of the turnaround goal, was also called up by the Brazilian national team, joining Wendell and Galeno. The left-back was already in the first call of Dorival Júnior, while the extreme was called to surrender Gabriel Martinelli.

Pepê, on the other hand, also took advantage of the wave of injuries, in this case of Casemiro, former FC Porto who lines up at Manchester United.

“From a pre-selection made by the technical team of the Brazilian national team with 50 names, 13 of them were already away due to injury.

Unfortunately, we also lost Casemiro. Thus, Pepê, from FC Porto, a striker of origin and today playing as a midfielder, is called up,” explained Dorival Júnior to the media of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

Pepê, 27, is the only one of the portista trio summoned that already adds an internationalization by Brazil.

The “escrete” faces England and Spain, on March 23 and 26.
