Kylian Mbappé Sued Mohamed Henni For Unauthorized Use Of His Name
Mohamed Henni’s name is probably known to all football fans, and especially those of OM.
The famous Marseille influencer recently launched a fast food business, in which he sells burgers and sandwiches. One of the flagship products of the menu is none other than a burger called LeMbappé, with a description in which we can read “round bread baker, as round as Mbappé’s skull”. What did not please the player’s entourage.
The company KMA, which exploits the player’s derived rights and is managed by the mother of striker Fayza Lamari, has just put Mohamed Henni in for notice, forcing him to remove the player’s name from his products, under penalty of legal proceedings.
“I would like to inform you that the use of the name of a public figure without authorization constitutes a violation of his intellectual property rights and privacy. This practice is also likely to damage his reputation and public image. However, the name, image and, in general, the attributes of a person’s personality cannot be lawfully used without his express authorization.
This is why any unauthorized use of Mr. Kylian Mbappé Lottin’s name or image mechanically causes damage to the KMA company that operates them, which amounts to at least the amount of the remuneration it would have received if the use of Mr. Kylian Mbappé Lottin’s attributes had been authorized,”
Says in particular the statement from the law firm hired by the Mbappé clan, published by the influencer on his social networks. Mohamed Henni is warned.
